Hiking Yosemite National Park

This trail is well-marked and a great trip for beginning backpackers. If doing it in the summer, I recommend an early start as there are a couple of steep sections that are in the full sun.
There's a great ghost forest that's in the process of recovering from a wildfire -- right now there are many wildflowers growing in the open spaces.
Swimming is discouraged in the lake (to protect water quality), but it's a great place to soak your feet after the hike.
The best campsites are around the west side of the lake. Several have established fire circles so you can legally have a campfire.
