Only completed first 1/2, too many cairns that shouldn't have been there, which took us off trail so once we found it again we just turned around, would like to try it again though
First off, this trail is not 6.9 miles. I am not sure who came up with that but it is around 9.1 miles. Second, most of it is what I would call Easy but the section of Bluff Springs coming from the parking lot is not easy, up or down. The description of the trail here is going counterclockwise. If you do that, you have to go down a very steep section on the Bluff Springs Trail that is hard on your knees and requires balance. It is actually better, but more strenuous, to go clockwise and start up Bluff Springs. That is difficult and challenging but after that, it is a breeze.
Beautiful hike otherwise. So much variety in the terrain and scenery. You will enjoy.
One of the first hikes I made in the local mountains. Great! Saw wildlife and really nice views. The elevation gain on the hike makes it a good workout. I'll be going back for sure.
