I take Scout Troops out on this trail as it is relatively flat...nice crushed stone/sandy trail....it is about 4 miles in length round trip if you also do the 1 mile loop. There are interpretive signs scattered throughout the trail.......great views of the Four Peaks Mts, Superstition Mts, and if in the right location on the hour you will be treated to see the Fountain Hills Fountain (turns on every hour for 15 minutes). The Loop section has the "Submarine Rock" which one can go under as it is a grotto and actually climb up a few easy boulders to get to the opposite side. Great trail for families!

Great little hike up a short foothill in the McDowell Mtn. Park. Was overcast and cool, but I can see this being a very warm hike in the summer (no shade). Beginning of hike is in a wash area and then quickly begins to gently ascend Lousley Hill. Great 360 degree views along the way. Nice views of Four Peaks to the east and the McDowells to the west. I took two of my kids (9 and 7) and our dog. It was a hit with all four of us! Definitely recommend as a nice easy hike.
