Hiking Ruins Seldom Seen

This trail has changed significantly since the description in the book was written although I have been told that at times portions where we walked were underwater - so thank God for GPS...even so...the GPS coordinates given were incorrect and the only way we found it was with that our TOPO 24 map had the mountain labeled as Indian Mesa. You can only drive about 4 miles in on the dirt portion of Table Mesa road when you have to get out and hike the rest of the way. There was NO water to cross - only what's left of the old Agua Fria river bed and NO building in sight...just keep following the road all the way until you get to the trail that takes you up to the saddle between the two peaks. On the way watch out for free range cattle (lots of Bulls) and burros. Once you get to the top it is amazing and there are multiple room ruins and even pottery shards lying around. It is well worth the hike which was 6.6 miles out and back on our GPS. Love the trail - the directions here were horrible!
