A quintasential desert hike. This trail follows a (mostly) dried up creek bed that connects with the Escalante River and Harris Wash. You hike between beautiful red sandstone cliff walls that go up several hundred feet (not a slot canyon hike, however).
There are quite a few rocky areas that can be tricky to hike over, especially with an overnight backpack. Don't expect to find much water (that you'd want to drink) along the trail. We rationed our water to last until we reached the Escalante River. Also, there is no trailhead. Once you reach the corral, park and start hiking. My GPS said it was 9.25 miles from the "trailhead" to the Escalante River.
