The trail down Kane Gulch starts with a trek across the mesa before dropping into the gulch and descending several pouroffs. There are a couple tight spots before you get deep into lower Kane Gulch. We did not see any ruins before Junction Ruin, which is located where Kane opens into Grand Gulch. You should venture on down Grand Gulch for a longer day-hike or for an overnight trip if possible. There is a camp at the junction and in normal times Junction Spring provides water, but it was dry while we were there. Be sure to bring a filter for water in the dry season.
