The trail is nice and not too strenuous most of the way. It gets a little rocky here and there but not too bad. There were flowers all over the place while i was there. After going past the creek it gets a little less maintained. There were several downed trees i had to crawl under or over and the trail narrows as it climbs. There are a few good places to camp along the trail as well.
We took the Cave Creek trail up on Saturday morning and it was pretty hot. The trail is really rocky and this time of year there is not much of a view. I imagine that in the fall and winter it is a great trail with great views but this time of year is not a good time to go up. We camped on top of a ridge and woke up in a cloud. Everything was wet and very hot. Good for fall NOT now.
Cave Creek is a beautiful walk in the woods. The trail is fairly flat and the trees are tall and the forest is well canopied. Loved it!!
