A day hike or overnighter through the Joint and on to a majestic arch. The first part of the route is a gradual uphill grade on a fairly rocky trail. Watch for cairns to stay on the correct route. After about a half mile, the trails slips into a long, narrow joint—the Joint—between two rock formations, almost like a slot canyon, for about a quarter mile. At the end of the Joint, you climb man-made but rustic “stairs” just before you emerge from the depths of the Joint.
