A long day trip following a wilderness route down Wildcat Canyon. This route makes a challenging day trip across a stark and forbidding landscape dominated by the bone-white cliffs of the Navajo Formation. The hike is hot and dry during summer, with little water available along the way. Travelers are advised to carry more water than is really necessary. Climbers can use this route to access the upper reaches of the Right Fork canyon via a low pass to the west of Greatheart Mesa.
