Hiking Arizona's Cactus Country

The trail descends steeply to the Canada Del Oro basin. I did this hike twice in April 2007. There were several spots where fallen trees required some rerouting, and in a few spots trail finding required careful looking. The scenery is beautiful, and there was ample water in the stream at the bottom of the trail where it junctions with the Arizona Trail. There are many nice camp spots at this location for an overnight. A few cattle may wander about, but they won't bother you. The climb back up Red Ridge is very strenuous - rest often and bring extra water in the warmer months.
