A network of day-hiking trails in the low desert of Saguaro National Park. This intricate network of well-maintained trails crisscrosses the lowlands and foothills of Saguaro National Park’s northwestern corner. There are a large number of trailheads to choose from. This area offers a pristine example of Sonoran Desert vegetation, highlighted by an astonishing variety of cacti. The star of the show is the enormous saguaro, which grows to the height of a small tree and may live more than 200 years. This amazing plant is perfectly adapted to its desert environment.

Nice flat trail suitable for all ages and abilities. I saw more wildlife on this trail than any other in Tucson area. Views of mountains and desert are very good. Trail can be accessed from 2 points and there are many side trails available.

This is a great easier hike to do and get the "feel" of Tucson. There is an incredible variety of cactus. The trails are very well marked, and the terrain changes as you head east into the park. Do it in the cool part of the day though, as it can get hot.
