A backpack to a historic ranch in the northern Galiuro Mountains. This trek follows the Tortilla trail across mostly open country as it penetrates deep into the northern Galiuros. It ends at Powers Garden, an abandoned ranch in the valley of Rattlesnake Creek. The ranch has a colorful history, having once been owned by the notorious Power family. The trek begins on a primitive, closed road that runs through the Deer Creek administrative site. Pass through the corrals (and be sure to close the gates) and follow the rocky path that climbs to the Deer Creek–Oak Creek divide. There is a marked junction here; the East Divide trail takes off to the left while the trail to Powers Garden runs straight ahead through a gate.
