This drive provides a convenient sampling of the Needles District’s beguiling geology, including one of the district’s few views of the Colorado River. Along the way are vistas that include the dramatic lower segment of Salt Creek Canyon, the Needles and the Abajo (a.k.a. Blue) and La Sal mountains. At the end, you will gaze at the gorge of the Colorado River, near the confluence with Salt Creek.
