You will travel along a lofty ridge on a road of varying quality with remarkable vistas. It’s particularly convenient because of its proximity to three highways, providing easy access. It also has a perfect mix of pine and aspen forest, meadows and distant vistas and glimpses of wildlife early in morning or evening. If you begin or end at U.S. 40, you can take in Strawberry Pinnacles, sedimentary formations at the confluence of Strawberry River and Red Creek. Summer is nice, but early fall is even better.
