Explore the little-traveled lands of Chabot Regional Park. Your trail runs through a long, grassy valley beside a willow-lined creek and climbs gradually through eucalyptus forests to the ridgetop, a 340-foot elevation gain. Take in sweeping views to the east and then zigzag down 620 feet in the last 1.2 miles. Mostly on wide service trails, this route offers half sun and half shade.

We LOVED this trail for biking away from all the crowds on the West side of the valley on Los Gatos Creek trail...we started at the Silver Creek staging area and turned around near Cochrane Road - a 24 mile RT bike ride full of interesting sites, mixed shade, gorgeous views of the mountains on both sides of the valley and great little rest stops (we saw 3 in a 12 mile stretch) as well as the really fun RC aircraft park, watching the RC planes. Families, individuals, couples...everyone can enjoy this trail. I'd say it's 'moderate' in difficulty only because there are a few 'rises' going each way that require some strategic gear management on your bike...see you out there...we'll be back!
