Nice trail with great views.
But had difficulty finding it. At the parking lot, there is an old road with a gate. That is NOT the trail. The trail begins on an ATV trail to the West (left of the road if you are facing the gate).
Roughly 75 yards down that road, there is a gate where a sign says "trail."
We were not the only ones confused that day.
Hope this helps others. Enjoy!
Quite a work out. Lots of great views of the Verde Valley and the Sedona red rocks in the distance. Not a very high use trail, but well marked with orange blazes along the way. Some very interesting parts of the trail where the rock is very loose and the drop is very steep, be careful! This hike has been one of my favorites for the views, the brisk workout, and I didn't see a single other person the whole day! Awesome!
