Early in the summer season, before the higher country opens up, you may find yourself wanting some alpine adventure. Here’s a lake that just might provide some early relief from cabin fever; that is, if you call mid-June early. Pack some warm clothes. The temperatures can still be pretty brisk during June. Much of the hike is steep, but it’s not very far. Deer Lake makes an excellent primer hike that can easily fit into a weekend.
