Most people use the Mirror Lake entryway instead of Mill Flat, solely because the trail loses elevation starting from Mirror Lake. Usually two vehicles are used to support this trip. One vehicle transports the trekkers to Mirror Lake, while the other is left behind at Mill Flat. Another alternate route can be made via a branch off the Murdock Basin Road. This four-wheel-drive road takes you to the east portal of the Duchesne Tunnel.
