This trail was HORRIBLY overgrown when I made the trip. The first 9 miles the trail was very easy to follow, though overgrown to the point of long pants being mandatory if you wanted to avoid cut-up shins. The following miles, the very steep uphill miles, were insanely overgrown and the largest blaze I saw in these miles was approximately 1 inch long... I strongly suggest bringing your topo and a good compass along, as I lost the trail about 10 miles in, which could be disastrous under different circumstances. The scenery makes this hike entirely worthwhile though! All I can say is: Wow. I'll be making this trip again next summer, armed with more knowledge of the trail!
