Hidden Peak is among the lesser known lookouts of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, but what it lacks in widespread recognition it more than makes up for in scenic value. Much of the trail, formerly routed in heavy forest, was affected by a 2007 wildfire, and you should expect to encounter many downed trees along the way. The hike described below provides the shortest of several possible approach routes to the peak; even at that, it is still a long haul to the lonely lookout perched atop its summit.
