Hayes Point is a rocky, tree-covered overlook in the center of Blue Mountain Recreation Area. The trail loops through the forest, skirting a segment of Hayes Creek en route to the overlook. From the 4,754-foot summit are sweeping vistas of the Missoula Valley, the Bitterroot River, and the surrounding mountains.
