Day Hikes around Missoula, Montana

I believe I did a slight variation on this trail...I began where 3.01 crosses Forest Service Road 365, and ran up to the Blue Mountain Nature Trail loop. From there I ran the section of Blue Mountain Rec Trail that comes out at a parking lot on FS365. The trail switchbacks through an old burn where the grass is starting to green up. Very open, follows a ridge for awhile. Great views of the Missoula valley! The switchbacks make it easier to run, but there is no downhill rest. Trail is marked "3.01" the whole ways. I ran back on the FS365 road. 7.54 mi round-trip. From the topo I estimated total elevation gain to be around 1,200' total (~800' on the section this review is supposed to cover ;-) Highly recommended!
