The Moon-Randolph Homestead is an old ranch in the northwest corner of the North Hills Open Space. The century-old farm was purchased by the city of Missoula in 1 996, preserving the homestead for animals, plants, and people. The 470-acre property is adjacent to the Waterworks Trail and connects with the North Hills Trail system. The historic farm buildings and apple orchard are tucked into a draw below the highest knoll in the North Hills.
