The trail crosses from Rattlesnake Valley to Marshall Canyon on a gentle grade. To extend the hike, the Saddle Trail connects with the North Loop Trail (Hike 1 2), which loops around the northern peak of Mount Jumbo, and the Backbone Trail, which leads to the Loyola L.
