An extended trip to the lower reaches of Badger Creek's South Fork from Badger Pass. The Crucifixion Loop trail offers a day hike for travelers who find themselves in the Badger Pass vicinity. From Badger Pass, follow Trail 147 west toward Beaver Lake. After passing through subalpine forest for a short distance, the trail crosses a series of marshy openings. The trail then crosses the wilderness boundary and becomes much drier on its descent to the shores of Beaver Lake. This marshy pool is surrounded by grassy meadows and is overlooked by rounded hills.
