Best Hikes along the Continental Divide

Great wxperience starts at Cameron Lake with a well switchbacked ascent through thick forest. Vews of Cameron and peaks beyond are spectacular. Subalpine lake made for a good icnic area, but play it smart for future hikers. Ascent emerges above tree line on a stunning scree slope for the last mile to the pass. Views are breathtaking, but I wouldn't want to be on the pass in bad weather. The first four miles of the descent to Waterton Township are quite memorable (notably the face below the chain of lakes), but the last five are knee pounding and somewhat dull. Treat yourself to dinner at Two Sisters in Babb on the way back to St. Mary.
