Woody Falls is a spectacular 150-foot, three-tiered waterfall with a pool at the base. The falls is a popular destination for the locals as well as a cross-country ski trail in the winter. The trailhead is located in downtown Cooke City. The hike begins on an old mining road that leads to the Mohawk Mine.

What a beautiful day...sun shining, no wind! Not much snow, only about 6 inches so we didn't need our snowshoes, just waterproof boots. Pretty easy trail, saw lots of animal tracks and the falls were partially frozen over and very pretty. It's not often that I hike a trail first in the winter? seems too early for that. I will go back in the summer and see what it looks like!
