This obscure trail links the South Fork of the Teton with the North Fork of Deep Creek along grassy gulches guarded by impressive reefs. The trail begins with a ford of the South Fork of the Teton, then turns west for a rock-hop crossing of the Rierdon Gulch Creek. The trail turns south to follow the gulch upward, then zigzags high onto the toe of a ridge for views of the South Fork and the reefs that guard it. The path then traverses west into a meadowy vale before zigzagging up through the timber to reach the saddle at its head.
