This remote but well-beaten trail climbs over a high pass between the South Fork of Deep Creek and Biggs Creek, providing access to the North Fork of the Sun River. It may be combined with trails in the Rocky Mountain Front or Sun River Basin for extended trips of any desired length. The journey is much easier when approached from the east. From its junction with the South Fork Teton and Blacktail Creek trails, this route runs west along the alluvial gravels of Deep Creek’s south fork. It rounds a low cliff, then adopts an abandoned roadbed that parallels the north bank of the stream. The pines are sparse here, and broad clearings reveal the lofty peaks that surround the South Fork.
