This hike runs to the loftiest point in the Bob Marshall Wilderness that can be accessed by trail. The hike offers a good side trip for travelers who find themselves in the Indian Point area. The trail used to be quite rough, but recent reconstruction has made the grade much gentler over most of the trip. Even so, the hefty gain in altitude will take the breath away from all but the hardiest hikers. Water is not available along the trail, so it is best to bring an adequate supply for this challenging and sustained climb.
