This trail is a major route from the South Fork to the Holland Lake passes over the Swan Range. It is heavily traveled by stock parties and tends to be messy following wet weather. The trail is largely devoid of scenic value, with the exception of a stunning falls near its headwaters and Big Salmon Lake, the largest lake in the Bob Marshall complex.
