This trail provides access to the Big Salmon valley via a rather low pass in the Swan Range. Along the way, it passes the Pendant Lakes, a series of small, shallow lakes that sit at the bottom of a high, forested basin. The ultimate destination of the trip is Lena Lake, a large body of water that occupies an out-of-the-way side valley beneath the wooded slopes of Shaw Peak.
