Hiked this from Granite Park Chalet. Beautiful views and some of the best water features in the park. Trail is somewhat brushy towards the end of the valley.
Excellent trail for views & wildflowers. we might have seen about 50 different varieties of flowers and reasonable assortment of wildlife - the usual mountain goat, mule deer, squirells & chipmunks ...a a narrowly missed grizzily and her cubs ( we did not see it but everyone behind us did ) . This is a beautifyl trail with jawdropping views all the way!
This hike was one of the best that I did on my trip to Glacier. The climb starts in the woods, but soon clears as you ascend towards the lake. Beautiful views, but can get a little chilly when the sun tucks behind the clouds. Bring a camera. The views are breathtaking.
