Very beautiful hike! Did it with my 12 year old sis and mother, and they didn't have any problems until the uphills on the way back.
I recommend for hikers of all ages!
Great hike. Simple hike up boardwalk to overlook. Hike down to lake is very steep but worth the wonderful view. 600' of elevation is accomplished in a quarter mile or so...
The first part is a little bit crowded but very nice. When you arrive at the overlook (can be very chilly) you have a great view on the lake.
The second part to reach the lake is not as interesting and the ascent to come back is strenuous.
We saw wildlife amazingly close: marmots, bighorn sheeps and mountain goats.
Did this one Jul 22 and the trail was still 80% snow covered. Great hike with lots of wildlife, goats and sheep, etc. The over look is nice but the really great views are a few hundred yards more along the trail. This is a fairly easy hike and the reward makes this a must do hike!
If you want a fairly easy, short hike that offers up some exclent scenery then this is your trail. From behind Logan's Pass Visitor Center the trail is boarded to start the nice climb. The board walk doesn't last too long and then you are on a traditional trail. There are alot of people on this hike, but you will get lost in the beauty of your surrondings. Mountain goats and big horn sheep are usually easy to see on this trail. I think that it is a must at least one time for anyone who visits the park.
