This trail is great for beginner's on their first hiking experience. We did an overnighter in the campground below the lake, you can use pack horses up to the camp ground, but no stock or camping with 1000' of the lake. We set up base camp here then hiked up to the lake. There is a waterfall coming down the cliff and you think there is no lake at all. As you traverse up, you mount the top and the payoff is huge! The lake is absolutely gorgous! It is crystal clear and it does have trout in it! This is a must see for any hiker and a great day or overnighter hike with someone who isn't a real experienced hiker. We did get some snow in the night, but it really wasn't bad. I give this place two thumbs up and five stars!
