Good hike. Harder than easy, good trail, but lots of uphill. Hike to upper lake difficult and easy to lose trail. Stay high, the "trail" next to the lake is overgown. Upper lake not as pretty as advertised; I preferred the lower lake.

Maybe the best day hike rated "easy" I've ever taken. It's short, well marked to lower lake, not a difficult grade, both lakes and surrounding alpine basins are breathtaking, and has ample meadow and forest scenery for anyone. If you want to fish the trees and shrubs limit your options from shore, but it can be done (much easier with spinning gear than a fly rod). Since it's an easy hike many people pack in a belly boat.
