A mountain ascent on a well-established social trail with truly spectacular vistas— very likely the premier hike in all of northwestern Montana, if not the entire state.
Although named for a former railroad, the name of the mountain suggests exactly what it is. Its graceful curves and broad faces are irresistible to the individual who has acquired a taste for high places. Even with the incomparable peaks of Glacier Park nearby, this mountain attracts many individuals solely on the merits of its own beauty. This is a difficult off-trail route suitable only for well-conditioned and experienced hikers.
