Little Bennett Regional Park has developed a loyal following among D.C.-area families looking for a quick and easy escape. Even the most extreme adventurer has to appreciate the 20-plus miles of trails within this 3, 600-acre park that can be reached from either Baltimore or Washington in less than an hour. The Hawk’s Reach Activity Center serves as the park’s center of activities, coordinating nature hikes, children’s crafts, socials, and other family-geared entertainment. It also houses a popular game room. Large playgrounds, soccer fields, horseshoe pits, and volleyball courts provide additional entertainment and recreation for campers. I realize that the description above makes Little Bennett sound like a day camp swarming with kids and burned-out adults. It’s really much more pleasant than that; there’s a sincere appreciation for the place that ripples through its users.
