History records that, in 1708, what is now the Great Swamp and much of the land around it was purchased from the Delaware Indians for four cutlasses, a like number of pistols, 15 cauldrons, 30 pounds sterling, and a keg of rum. As you set off into the swamp and commence with involuntarily donating your blood to the swarms of mosquitoes that thrive in this muggy marsh, you may feel the Indians got the best of the deal.

Nice trail, nice views. Not busy at all, which I like...limited places to rest. Fun for the kids.
