If you feel pangs of pain on finishing this hike, those may owe more to the regret of leaving such a pristine environment than any blisters accumulated during the outing. From the heights of its granite-graced ridgetops to the depths of a sprawling rhododendron swamp, there is nothing run-of-the-mill about Wawayanda State Park. Spend a day on the vast network of trails of this wa-wa-wonderful property, and you’re bound to see wildflowers and wildlife, but relatively few people.
