In addition to the home of one of America’s foremost poets, the Bryant Homestead offers a beautiful woodland trail that passes through some of the oldest and tallest trees in all Massachusetts. In a world filled with unforseen consequences, the pleasure of walking into a grove of old-growth forest is nearly immeasurable. Though the rock picked up on the trail is hundreds of millions of years old, it is not alive. It is the combination of antiquity and life spirit that creates in us a sense of reverence, awe, and unexpected delight. That is what lies ahead.
