An easy stroll through woods and ravines to an iron viewing platform perched above a long tumbling cascade. Yokun Ridge is the name of a long mountainous rise that cuts a north–south profile through the central Berkshires. The area is home to many trail networks, including Kennedy Park and Pleasant Valley Sanctuary in Lenox. The Berkshire Natural Resources Council also has trails that trace the hills, with one of the nicest being the path to Stevens Glen. This loop trail straddles the Richmond and West Stockbridge boundary on the western slope of West Stockbridge Mountain. The trail is very well maintained with a comfortable treadway through most of the walk and solid bridges spanning the rocky waterways. The path is marked with red blazes that lead down forested slopes to a spectacular cascade that squeezes the flow of Lenox Mountain Brook through a long, narrow fissure.

Beautiful and quiet. We saw no people on this trail on an ideal hiking day. However, we did come within 50 yards of a bear and her cub. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash!
