There are two sides to the campground at Wompatuck State Park: electric and nonelectric. Obviously, the nonelectric side is going to be the one with the best tent camping. The forest here is fairly dense with birch, maple, sumac, and pine. Generally, it’s nice and quiet—all you’ll hear is the breeze rustling through the trees. The sites are numbered and lettered according to the road they’re on. All the N sites, for example, are on the N road. The campground roads are all paved and well marked. Most of the sites are set back from the road at an angle, which helps increase the sense of seclusion.
