The hike to 681-foot Acadia Mountain is along one of the older trails in the park and leads to a beautiful outlook of Somes Sound, the only fjord-like feature on the Atlantic coast of the United States, and of nearby mountains such as Norumbega and Beech. Another good option is a short side trip to Man o’ War Brook, named for the French and British warships in the 1700s that came to get drinkable water where the brook cascades into Somes Sound.

This was an amazing hike with breathtaking, rewarding views along the way up and at the top. I gave it 4 stars because the way down is alot of stepping down on rocky terrain, requires lots of balance and ankle support, but anyone who's basically in decent shape can do it. There were lots of families on the trail with kids who made it to the top.
