This hike leads to a mountain pond called the Bowl, where you can encounter wildlife, especially if you travel early in the morning or late in the afternoon. You can connect to the Gorham Mountain and Champlain South Ridge Trails off this trail. And you can find more moderate ascents up the back side of the nearby Beehive, a nice alternative to climbing the iron ladder rungs up that peak’s cliff.
