This ride on the undeveloped, west side of Loon Mountain in Lincoln is short, but it packs in a lot of fun. Starting with an easy ride along the East Branch of the Pemigewasset River, you will eventually get your heart pumping as you climb 800 feet through northern hardwoods and over rushing streams. At the top of the ride you will find views toward Kinsman and Lafayette before turning around and making a fast descent over a wide and grassy logging road. The section between the river and the logging road contains some difficult riding over roots and rocks, which will challenge beginning mountain bikers who are not used to the bumps. However, riders who do not mind a few rocks, roots, and water bars will find this to be an enjoyable trip.
