This is the longest and most gradual way up wooded Mansell Mountain and the least traveled. The trail heads east-southeast from the gravel Long Pond Fire Road, taking you along a fast-moving creek and over splitlog bridges through boggy areas. Highlights: Gradual walk up Western Mountain’s wooded west face to 949-foot Mansell peak.
