An easy loop through several forest types that includes a pleasant stroll along Stoney Brook and Sopers Branch. This splendid little hike offers Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County urbanites an almost instant retreat from the city. Although the woods here have a wild feel about them, the park area actually encompasses the former settlement of Kingsley. Special considerations: To manage automobile traffic within the park, park officials some- times limit automobile access to the nature center parking area. In this case you can park at the Clarksburg Road trailhead at the junction of Hyattstown Mill and Clarksburg Roads and start this loop at Mound Builder Trail. To reach the trailhead, reverse your driving route back to Clarksburg Road and go left. In about a mile, at the left intersection with Hyattstown Mill Road, there is trailhead parking on the right. To reach Mound Builder Trail, walk 0.25 mile west on Hyattstown Mill Road and go left at the first trail leaving the road. In 200 yards cross Little Bennett Creek on a footbridge, and continue straight for about 50 yards to Mound Builder Trail. Turn right and follow the directions of the hike as described below; when you reach the nature center, follow the directions from the beginning back to this spot.

Beautiful facilities, I was quite suprised to find this wonderful park so close to the metropolitian area. Trail was well maintained and clearly marked.
