The hike up to the pond and around it (not the whole loop) was great. A pretty easy trail (it can get muddy due to the closeness of the stream), the hike up and around and back down is probably about 5 miles. Little Rock Pond is a gorgeous body of water. The markers were a bit sporadic and at one point some tree scrambling happened and the trail markers seemed lost (fallen trees). Other than that, very easy and lovely.
I highly recommend this trail for your early winter camping bug. The light snow across Little Rock Pond is a breathtaking sight. The location of the body of water is perfect...you emerge from the quiet woods to gaze in awe at the modest size pond and the large granite rock formations around it. The Green Mountain trail is greatas well. Did you know you can listen to silence? The Lula Tye Shelter is an excellent accommodation as well.
