Mention Princeton and most people automatically think of the university. But in the heart of this thriving college community, there’s a hidden oasis, Herrontown Woods, offering easy hiking year-round.
Jack-in-the-pulpit, violets, and marsh buttercups are only a few of them. Summer is the ideal season to take advantage of the shade provided by oaks, maples, and beeches, while fall is when Mother Nature paints the leaves bold colors. If you want to brave the cold plan a visit in the winter, when the ice crackles beneath your feet as you walk along the meandering trails, and you have a better opportunity to spot deer.
